Our Story

Chabad Westbury was established in the wake of the shocking events of October 2023 to serve the Jewish community of Westbury, Montreal.

Determined to respond to hate with love and darkness with light, Chabad Westbury was created as a space where no Jew would ever feel alone. Our mission is to unite and strengthen the community through acts of kindness, meaningful connections, and spiritual inspiration.

From the very beginning, Chabad Westbury has been a welcoming and inclusive home for all, regardless of background or prior knowledge. We are dedicated to providing a warm and inviting environment where individuals can explore and experience Judaism in a non-judgmental and uplifting atmosphere.

Our Mission

At Chabad Westbury, our mission is simple yet powerful: to strengthen and unite our Jewish community through acts of love, kindness, and connection. Whether it’s a warm Shabbat dinner, a Torah class, or a friendly message, we’re here to ensure that no one feels alone.

Our Vision

We envision a community where every Jewish individual feels supported, inspired, and proud of their identity. Together, we strive to turn challenges into opportunities, transforming pain into purpose and division into unity.

Since its inception, Chabad Westbury strives to meet the needs of the community with religious services, and social events, as well as an array of programming offering Women’s Circle, Torah & Tea classes, Men’s Social Club, themed Shabbat dinners, holiday preparation packages, mezuzah assistance, kitchen kashering, one-on-one learning opportunities, and so much more.

*Chabad Westbury is a local branch of the Chai Center. Every dollar that we receive comes from the generosity of people like you. Your donations are fully tax deductible.

Meet the Rabbi & Rebetzin

Rabbi Iosi & Hana founded Chabad Westbury March 2024.

Rabbi Iosi grew up in Brazil, where his love for the outdoors often found him surfing and swimming in the warm waters of his hometown. He pursued advanced studies in Jewish thought and practice at the Rabbinical College of America, earning his rabbinical ordination in Morristown, NJ.

Known for his infectious optimism and joyful personality, Rabbi Iosi brings warmth and dedication to his work in the community. With training as a life coach and certification in mental health first aid, he provides compassionate and understanding support to those around him.

Hana was born in Brazil, her passion for education and community-building is palpable. She dedicates her time to teaching women’s classes and leading Mothers of Montreal, a support organization that empowers Jewish mothers. With a mission to provide emotional, spiritual, and practical guidance, Hana ensures that mothers have the resources and community they need to navigate the challenges of motherhood and avoid postpartum struggles.

Hana’s exquisite taste and attention to detail shine through in the beautifully curated events she organizes at Chabad Westbury. Her creativity and warmth create spaces that inspire connection, learning, and joy for all who attend.
